Robust Quality Engineering Society（RQES）
Overview & History:
RQES is a Japanese academic organization dedicated to the research and promotion of robust quality engineering.
Robust quality engineering was first proposed by Dr. Genichi Taguchi in the 1970s and was supported and developed by engineers and researchers in various fields in the 1980s. In the 1990s, it came to be recognized in many fields as a basic methodology for technological development.
In March 1993, the "Robust Quality Engineering Forum" was established to bring together the activities of various fields, unify the results of their research, promote its dissemination, and further develop it.
After receiving official approval as an academic organization, the name was changed to "Robust Quality Engineering Society " in July 1998, and after further active promotion of its activities, "Robust Quality Engineering Society, Inc. was established in September 2016.
Activities of the Society for Robust Quality Engineering
(1)Publication of the Society's journal "Robust Quality Engineering
It contains the latest information on quality engineering including research papers and editorials. It is published four times a year.
(2) Conference on Robust Quality Engineering Society
Held once a year for two days around June, this is the largest conference on robust quality engineering.
(3) Conference on Technology Strategy
This is a research and presentation conference that focuses on the strategic use of robust quality engineering in technology management, technology management, human resource development, and other areas. It is held every November.
(4) Corporate Social Networking Meetings
Visits are made to companies and organizations that are actively utilizing robust quality engineering. Mutual enlightenment is conducted through introductions of robust quality engineering initiatives and presentations of case studies of utilization. The meeting is held once a year around March.
(5) Support for Activities of Local RQE Research Groups
The committee supports the activities of robust quality engineering local study groups throughout Japan.
(6) Robust Quality Engineering Consultant System
Robust quality engineering consultants are assigned with the cooperation of public research institutes throughout Japan to provide consultation on robust quality engineering.
